“The worst alarm tone.” A cup of tea/ coffee. Having breakfast, brushing your teeth, then going to do regular basic work, coming back home, and going to sleep.”
Definition of Life
Well, it is the definition based on the 21st century. According to you, what is the definition of life? Your happiness, desires, existence in the world, being with your loved ones, etc. are the literal meaning of life. Generally, the definition of “life” is interconnected with better physical and mental health and better motivation toward oneself. Life is not meant to assure only the process of evolution, the expectations of life are far more authentic.
Men can’t live alone. To lead a worthy life in the world, everyone has to be a part of a society or culture. And to be a part of society, he/ she must follow some rules and regulations. According to the demands of society, the people in a particular society have to do some work. Work demands potential and potential demands skill. The more skilled a person is, the more he/ she can prosper in life. And these skills, which are related to life, are simply defined as “life skills.
Life-based skills are called Life-skill.
Life-skill
Don’t we want to have a happy life? To deal with all these abstract faces of our daily lives, we must gain some skills. The skills that make our daily lives easy and comfortable are called life skills. Again, life skills are those that we learn from our everyday experiences.
According to the WHO,
“To fulfill the regular demands and cope with the unaware situation of our lives, we need a positive mentality. “The power that enhances the positivity of the mind is called life skill.”
Similarly, life skills are the arrangement of skills without which our lives may be miserable.
Life skills vary area-wise. It depends on the demands of a particular society and its people. For example, the people of a coastal area have to know the facts about floods, cyclones, etc., despite swimming. because water is their regular companion.
On the contrary, these people who live near any forest must be skilled in making and using handmade weapons. As they always have a fear of animals. If we teach them the skill of swimming, it won’t be beneficial to them.
WHO, UNICEF, and UNESCO declared in a survey some of the life skills everyone needs to have. They are
- Empathy: As social beings, we have to face many difficulties in our everyday lives. But we need to keep our patience. To lead our lives with ease, we must learn this skill.
- Creative thinking: Thinking refers to the capability of defining a situation from a different point of view. Creative thinking is a different type of thinking where a person needs to think outside the box. We can also define it as a bunch of thoughts with definite knowledge.
Coping with stress: Stress, depression, and overthinking are part of our lives. learn to keep our minds calm. We should develop this skill.
- Coping with emotions: Humans have a special characteristic, which is emotion. Emotions may be harmful or good. If emotion crosses the limit, it becomes an injury to health.
- Effective communication: Communication is the main way to connect people. To connect with different people and work with them, we must learn this skill.
- Critical thinking: In our everyday lives, we face many types of problems. At that time, when we react or what we say matters. So the main goal of this skill is to teach about sequential gestures as well as action.
- Self-awareness: The main goal of this skill is to provide the learner with some training so that he/ she can keep his/ herself sound and safe.
- Decision-making: It is important to know the right things at the right time. So everyone needs to develop the skill.
- Interpersonal relationships: In today’s world of science and technology, we have to go through many people. So this is a significant skill.
- Problem-solving: It is a major skill in our day-to-day lives as we face many difficult situations.
As we know, life skills are a process of teaching and creating awareness among a certain number of people, so they are a kind of social phenomenon. And the perspective of life and life-skill skills are interconnected with each other. Thus, we can say that
A life without skill is such a mess.
