If someone asks you, “Where is chemistry’s involvement?” You ask him the opposite question, “Where is chemistry not involved?”

If I ask you this same question, what would you say in response? Think of anything, where there is no touch of chemistry. Chemistry is a fundamental part of our world and is involved in almost everything we do. Chemistry is an essential part of our lives and is present in almost everything we do, even if we don’t always realize it.

All of our feelings and sensations of  love are chemical responses in our bodies. Love causes our bodies to release chemicals such as oxytocin, vasopressin, and endorphins.

Chemistry has an impact on many elements of our daily lives, including the water we drink, toothpaste, fabric quality, and the food we eat. It is also used in the production of fuel for cooking and transportation, as well as the production of everyday things such as pens and paper.

Furthermore, in today’s period, chemistry pervades many fields, from the ingredients of medicine, which is our daily companion, to the source of huge power development. I hope you now have a better understanding of the vastness of chemistry.

The importance of chemistry cannot be emphasized. I merely said a few words. So, if the scope of chemistry is so broad, what will be the job extent of the subject of chemistry?

Branches of Chemistry and some examples from real life :

  • Organic Chemistry

It deals with the study of chemicals containing carbon.Example-Washing detergents, Plastics, Hair dyes etc.

  • Inorganic Chemistry

Inorganic chemicals are often found in minerals and rocks, and they play an important part in many natural processes, including the production of rocks and minerals, nutrient cycling in ecosystems, and atmospheric chemical reactions..Example-Floor cleaner, Soap, Different types of chemicals.

  • Physical Chemistry

It is connected to atomic properties, microscopic properties, and chemical system phenomena.Example-Water boiling, Water freezing.

  •   Analytical Chemistry

Analytical chemistry is concerned with identifying, quantifying, and separating compounds in matter samples.Example-Water, Soil, Food testing.

  • Industrial Chemistry

It has a significant role in the creation of several businesses and is used in industries such as cement, glass, dye, textiles, and paper. Making adequate catalysts has also resulted in increased production of nitric acid, ammonia, hydrogenated oils, and sulphuric acid.Example- Sulfuric acid from factories.

  •   Polymer Chemistry

Polymer chemistry is a specialized field of chemistry that focuses on the study of polymers and macromolecules.Example-Synthetic fibers clothes.

  •   Nuclear Chemistry

The study of the physical and chemical properties of elements that are impacted by changes in the structure of the atomic nucleus is known as nuclear chemistry. It also discusses the energy released by nuclear reactions and their applications.Example-Manufacturing weapons.

Job Opportunities :

Candidates with a chemical background can use their skills and qualifications to work in a range of sectors. Research, analysis, testing, and documentation abilities in chemistry have a wide range of professional applications. If you are a recent chemistry graduate who is inquisitive about your career prospects, reviewing jobs you can pursue may be beneficial.
