One of the most important goals of primary education is to install basic creativity in students, to acquire comprehensive and accurate writing skills.  Fluency in writing or writing skills is considered an essential skill for academic success as well as professional life.

Experimentally since 2008, ‘creative‘ examination methods have been introduced in the hope of freeing students from rote dependence;  Where students have the opportunity to develop analytical skills, innovative thinking and creativity along with theoretical knowledge.

Writing is an important part of our daily life.  However, trying to acquire writing skills properly should start from the early stage of education.  Various studies have shown that the primary level of education is considered to be the most suitable for language learning.  Apart from this, acquiring literacy skills is also an important issue.  So in order to acquire good writing skills the teacher should focus on some things:

  1. Increase student motivation;
  2. Explain the rules of how to write (ex: word formation, correct word usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation, etc.);
  3. Providing writing practice;
  4. Providing constructive feedback about students;
  5. Students who write well, read their writing to others in class and explain why it is good;
  6. Identify weaknesses by reading poor quality writing;
  7. Non-textbook books provide ideas on grammar, punctuation and word usage;
  8. Practice writing in class regularly and
  9. Praise students who have good writing skills.

If the teacher provides regular motivation, students will strive to improve their writing and continue with regular efforts.  Good writing requires students to apply proper techniques, such as grammar rules.  When students get clear, specific feedback about their own skills, they will think about how to improve and strive to do better in the future.  By organizing these strategies, an educational institution can motivate their students to achieve better results.

On the other hand, in some schools we see that the teachers lack proper skills.  Below are some strategies for them, but these strategies can be used by anyone to improve their writing skills:

  1. Read regularly: It may seem surprising to some, but the first step to improving writing skills is not writing, but reading.  Regular reading of different types of writing (academic, humour, poetry, science fiction, general prose, etc.) will give you a good idea of proper word usage, synonyms, and sentence structure.  And it goes without saying that good reading will help you to express grammar and spelling correctly, as well as build a large vocabulary.
  2. Write daily: Regular practice makes any task perfect.  This applies to any activity in life.  When you want something good, there’s no substitute for it.  Write consistently every day.  Your progress may be very slow;  But with each day, week and practice, your writing will improve.  Read samples you wrote months or years ago to see your progress.  Then you can feel the difference yourself.
  3. Read your text out loud: This technique is very important.  When you read your writing out loud, you will notice where there are mistakes, incomplete or repetitive writing.  You can later correct your mistakes to make your writing richer.
  4. A Writing with a Teacher/Writer: A professional writer or tutor is key to developing writing skills.  He has professional experience and can give constructive criticism.  It is possible to overcome your writing weaknesses with the help of a writer/tutor.

If you follow the above strategies regularly, you will feel the difference in your writing skills after a few days.
