Google Chrome is the most popular internet browser nowadays. We use Google Chrome everywhere, be it Windows, Android or any other device. Chrome has many features or shortcuts that we cannot use the full potential of Google Chrome due to ignorance. In this blog, I will share with you 10 wonderful secret tricks of Google Chrome that will make your internet browsing much easier after knowing them.

10 Secret Tricks of Google Chrome Browser

Chrome browser has many tricks that not everyone knows, or very few know. So today I will tell you the best 10 secret tricks of this browser and how to use them in detail. So let’s know the secret tricks of Chrome-

Tab grouping

For those who switch between dozens of tabs while browsing, tab grouping can be a game-changer. Tabs can become annoyingly short when you have a lot of them open, making it too simple to close the wrong one by accident. Putting related tabs together will help you organize the chaos that is your browsing.

How to do it is as follows:

Click on any tab with a right-click and choose “Add tab to new group.”

To make your group easy to recognize, give it a name and pick a color.

Just right-click on any tab and choose the group you’ve created to add more tabs to this group.

Want a better view? It is even possible to open a new window that contains every tab in a group.

Sending links by highlighting text:

Think you want to let someone read a specific part of an article but can’t actually tell him which part to read. In this case you can highlight that part of the article and send the link to him.

If you select the specific part of the article and click the right button of the mouse, you will get the “Copy link to highlight” option.

Then copy the link and send when someone opens that link then the specific part you selected will be highlighted.

Synchronization:

  • On the desktop version of Google Chrome, click the profile icon on the left.
  • Choose the “Turn on sync” menu item.
  • You’ll be prompted to log in using your Gmail credentials. All of your browsing history will be synchronized once you log in.
  • Using Google Chrome on any device, you can now quickly access your bookmarks, saved passwords, and browsing history.

Pinning tabs:

Pinning the tabs you need will make it easier to find them when you’re working with multiple tabs in the browser. Also, pinned tabs take up less space than regular tabs and don’t cut easily. To pin a tab-

If you right click on the tab you want to pin, you will get the “Pin” option. Clicking on Pin will pin the tab.

Restoring Chrome tabs:

If you accidentally close a tab while browsing, you can easily restore it using either a keyboard shortcut or the tab bar in Google Chrome:

  • Press Shift + Ctrl + T on your keyboard.
  • Alternatively, simply right-click on the Chrome tab bar with your mouse.
  • From the menu that appears, choose the “Restore” option.
  • This action will promptly restore any recently closed or cut tabs.

Task Manager for Google Chrome:

Google Chrome has a negative reputation for consuming a lot of CPU and RAM. To find out which Google Chrome tab or extension is consuming more RAM, open the task manager in Chrome.

Shift + Esc on the keyboard should be pressed while the Chrome browser is open.

Subsequently, you can observe which tabs or extensions consume the most RAM. You can close a tab if you notice that it is consuming too much RAM.

Google Chrome Flags:

Google Chrome Flags are features that are experimental or beta features of Chrome. It has some features that are useful. To use Chrome Flags features-

Browsers should write chrome://flags then the list of experimental features will come.

From here you can use the feature you need. If you don’t understand a feature well, don’t try to use it. But you can check out the parallel download feature, which I use myself. This feature downloads a file in chunks much like IDM. As a result, the download speed is relatively higher.

Search for words or phrases:

When you stumble upon a word or phrase while browsing in Google Chrome that piques your curiosity, there’s no need for the copy-paste-search routine. Simplify the process with these steps:

  • Highlight the word or phrase you want to explore further.
  • Right-click on the selected text to reveal the “Search Google for” option.
  • Click on it, and voila! A new tab opens, swiftly taking you to a Google search results page dedicated to that specific word or phrase.
  • Effortlessly delve deeper into topics of interest without interrupting your browsing flow.

Opening some specific websites:

Many of us regularly visit some websites like Facebook, YouTube or other work websites. You can open your required sites in Chrome as soon as you want to open Chrome. That’s why-

Click on “On startup” from Google Chrome settings, then click on “Open a specific page or set of pages” option and add the links of your required sites from “Add a new page”.

When you close Chrome and open it again, the links to the sites you added will open when Chrome opens.

I think that among all the Google Chrome tricks that I have discussed so far, many people knew something and many did not. Hopefully using these secret tricks or features will make your internet browsing much easier than before.
