The most dangerous heat-related ailment is heat stroke. It happens when the body loses the ability to regulate its temperature, causing the body to heat up quickly, stop sweating and become unable to cool down. The body temperature might increase to 106 F or more in 10 to 5 minutes when heat stroke strikes.
Effective detection and prediction technologies are required to reduce the dangers associated with the rising global temperatures that are causing an increase in heart-related illnesses. When the body temperature rises too high, a potentially fatal disease known as heart stroke happens. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can cause it. When the body finds it difficult to sufficiently chill down. Two cutting-edge technologies that have the potential to transform entire sectors and improve our lives in many ways are machine learning (ML) and the internet of things. At the moment, monitoring equipment is mostly utilized for diagnosis when people with heatstroke are present.
Some indications and symptoms of heatstroke are:
- Elevated core body temperature. Using a rectal thermometer, the primary indicator of heatstroke is a core body temperature of 104 F (40 C) or greater.
- Change in behavior or mental condition. Heatstroke may cause delirium, seizures, coma, confusion, agitation, slurred speech, irritability and convulsions.
- Changes in sweat production. The symptoms of heat stroke caused by hot weather include dry skin. In heat stroke caused by intense physical activity, on the other hand, your skin may feel somewhat damp or dry.
- Vomiting and nauseous. It’s possible that you’ll throw up or feel quite nauseous.
- Skin that is refreshed. The higher your body temperature, the more red your skin may get.
- Breaths quickly. You can start to breathe shallowly and quickly. Heart rate at full speed. It might be your pulse.
The following factors may cause either kind of heatstroke:
- Wearing too much clothing that keeps your body from cooling down and allowing perspiration to evaporate.
- Having alcohol can have an impact on how well your body regulates its temperature.
- Insufficient in water intake to replace fluids lost through perspiration can lead to dehydration.
Heatstroke treatment:
Quick action should be taken when the early signs of heat stroke appear. The patient should be moved to a relatively cool place. Wipe the body with a wet cloth. The fan should be turned off or vented. Drink plenty of water or saline. Ice can be applied to the shoulder, armpit or groin. If the condition does not improve, it should be taken to the hospital immediately.
Heat stroke can sometimes cause serious damage and even death. So be careful this summer.
AI can play a significant role in reducing heat stroke cases. Apps equipped with AI can signal excessive heat when the bearer of the phone is outside. If the signal reflects high temperature, AI will tell the user to go inside or drink adequate water. Besides, if a person is suffering from heatstroke, AI can signal to the nearest hospital or police station for emergency help.
AI can also be used in forecasting heat so that people become conscious about the temperature. AI can also be used in schools as children are victims of heatstroke. AI powered AC and other technologies have been introduced lately that can alleviate the risk of heatstroke. In a nutshell, AI is the new beam of light for alleviating heatstroke.
