The Japanese government, through the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), extends a golden opportunity to international students with its fully funded MEXT Scholarship.

Duration:
- Undergraduate: 4-6 years
- Research: 2 years
- Teacher’s Training: 6 months + 1 year Master’s level course

Eligibility Criteria:
- Nationality: Applicants must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan.
- Applicants who have completed 12 years of schooling in countries other than Japan.
- Undergraduate: Age of 17 and under 25 years and have completed 12 years of school education or have completed courses in a school
- Research: Age under 35 years and a college graduate or you must have completed 16 years / 18 years of education.
- Teacher’s Training: Age below 35 and graduate of universities or teacher training schools and have worked as teachers at elementary or secondary educational institutions or teacher training schools and have 5 years experience.
- College of Technology: Age between 17 and 25 and completed school education comparable to a high school.
- Specialized Training College: Age between 17 and 25 and completed 12 years of schooling or have completed school education comparable to a Japanese high school.
- Japanese Language Ability: Applicants must be willing to learn Japanese. Applicants must be interested in Japan and be willing to deepen their understanding of Japan after arriving in Japan.
- Health: Applicants must be in good physical and mental health to study in Japan.
- Applicants may have to submit additional documents such as transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a personal statement.
Scholarship Coverage:
- Full free tuition fee coverage at Japanese universities.
- Covers the cost of round-trip airfare.
- Education Fees: Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation, and tuition at universities will be paid by MEXT.
- Monthly allowance to cover living expenses such as accommodation, food, and other daily expenses.
- Non-regular or preparatory students will receive 143,000 yen as a monthly stipend.
- Monthly stipend of 144,000 for graduate students.
- Doctorate students will receive a monthly stipend of 145,000 yen.
- Transportation allowance to travel in Japan.
- Japanese language training to help them adjust to life in Japan and communicate effectively with Japanese people.
