Kill Me, Heal Me is one of those rare shows that is packed with almost all kinds of emotions you look for in a good show. Suspense, mystery, romance, comedy, and what not? You will laugh, cry, smile, scream, & go “wtf” throughout your journey with this show.
This drama never loses its plot.
It has an amazing storyline.
The story of this drama is about Cha Do Hyun (Ji Sung), the son of a Korean conglomerate, who deals with a complication that is secret to everyone except his family members. At the beginning of the drama, it is shown that Cha Do Hyun lives in the USA for his study and he acts differently in someone’s house at different times.
Normally he is a decent person, but when he acts differently, he becomes a violent and daredevil person, which is really shocking and confusing for the audience. But it is because Cha Do Hyun suffers from DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) which is also known as Multiple Personality Disorder.
Cha Do Hyun portrays this rare illness by playing 7 different characters of different gender and age with his amazing acting skills. His seven characters are Shin Se-Gi, Ahn Yoo-Na, Ahn Yoo-sub, Perry Park, Nana, Mr. X, and Cha Do Hyun himself.
Shin Se-gi is the exact opposite of Cha Do-Hyun. He is dark, bad-tempered, and somewhat violent. He is a personality created to deal with Cha Do Hyun’s painful personality as he remembers the childhood memories that were ‘forgotten’.
Then Chairwoman Seo Tae-im sends word for her amiable grandson, Cha Do-hyun to return to South Korea from his studies in the United States. That’s how the story begins.
Then on the airplane Cha Do Hyun meets with Oh Ri On (Park Seo-joon) who is the brother of Oh Ri Jin (Hwang Jung-eum). But unfortunately, Oh Ri On encountered one of the personalities of Cha Do Hyun.
Oh Ri Jin is a psychiatric resident. Cha Do Hyun sees her at the airport. Then Do-hyun’s violent persona Se-gi follows after Ri-Jin, the young psychiatrist he met at a club; the real Do-hyun enters the battle for succession.
That’s how Cha Do Hyun lives involved with Ri jin.
A traumatic childhood experience leaves Cha Do Hyun suffering from memory loss and dissociation. The latter has resulted in the creation of seven distinct personalities.
Wanting to regain control over his life, he asks Oh Ri Jin, a first-year psychiatric resident, to help him, but she eventually falls in love with one of his personalities. Ri Jin’s twin brother, Oh Ri On, a famous mystery novelist, investigates Do Hyun and his family.
One of his (Cha Do Hyun’s) identities as a girl is impressive, with him wearing a pink dress & running around the street.
In turn, if we judge from a medical point of view, I think the female Oh Ri Jin lead is quite professional as a psychiatrist. I like her way of treating different identities as friends to help Ji Sung, and giving them each a gift before they leave.
- What is the traumatic childhood memory that is the reason for Cha Do Hyun’s disorder?
- Why does one of the personalities of Cha Do Hyun run after Ri Jin?
- How are Cha Do Hyun and Oh Ri Jin connected?
- Could Oh Ri Jin be able to cure Cha Do Hyun’s disorder?
You can get all the questions answered by watching this drama.
If you’re looking for a Korean drama with a lot of life lessons to learn, romantic comedy, medical elements, and something to watch with your family, then ‘Kill Me, Heal Me’ is perfect for you.
