Leepu Nizamuddin Awlia is a car builder and originator. His nickname is Leepu. He was born in 1968 to a wealthy family in Dhaka. His father was an officer at the US Government Office in Bangladesh and, afterward, Saudi Arabia. He grew up in Zigatola and Dhanmondi, Dhaka. Studied at Dhaka Private Demonstrate College.
In 1986, Leepu and his family were transported to Saudi Arabia and selected for the Bangladesh Universal School in Jeddah, where he passed an auxiliary examination consisting of seven letters.
At the age of 16, he had his first car!
At the age of 16, he was obsessed with cars. He saw the Saudi king’s luxury car collection for the first time in Riyadh. A dizzying list of cars with unique and never before seen designs. His favorite Italian sports cars are Lamborghinis, Ferraris and limousines. The color of the car is custom made and rich princes pay millions for this privilege.
It was there that he first saw the red Lamborghini Countach and fell in love with it. Leepu remembers being very happy. Later, when Leepu started high school, his father gifted him a driver’s license and a Japanese Mazda car. “I wanted to buy Earl’s car, but my dad said he couldn’t even get a tire, let alone the car”, he added. When Awliya’s family returned to Bangladesh, He took over the garage of their house in Jigatol and started working on the project.
With no college degree or academic training,Leepu taught himself the anatomy and physiology of cars. “Over the next three years, l would buy six or seven cars (ex-Hondas, Toyota, even Volkswagens), take them apart and learn the insides. I drove around town looking for car dealerships to see how they worked, what tools were used, and where to buy them.l subscribes to car magazines and books and reads everything about cars.” said Leepu.
In 1989, he created his dream car, the Lamborghini Countach, using an old Honda chassis. Leepu named the car Leepu Mobile. Leepu lived in the United States from 1991 to 1997 when his father enrolled him in a General Motors training course to study automotive engineering, but he was not satisfied. Instead, Leepu attended Los Angeles to get his driver’s license. He later opened his own workshop in Los Angeles to repair and restore cars.
Leepu made his own ‘Leepusine’
“I always dreamed of driving a limousine for my wedding. Instead, I rode a boat in my grandfather’s punjabi pajamas during the great flood of 1998. I had no money to do anything,” said Leepu.
A few years later, he built one of his dream cars, the Lamborghini Diablo. In 2002, he welded several 2.8-liter diesel-powered cars into a 22-foot luxury sedan. “I want to live in a limousine when I get married. Rather, I built my own Leepusine and took my wife and children to a wedding in the capital’s Sheraton Hotel. When my car was in line, everyone was looking at my car,” Leepu remembered.
The limousine takes 40 days to build and includes a water cooler, home television and sound system. He estimated it would fetch more than $50,000 if sold. “Most people in Dhaka have never seen a car this big,” he said, excited to see everyone jumping!
From “Bangla Bangers” in 2007 to a show with Pitbull in 2015
Leepu appeared on AFP in 2002 and joined the BBC in 2003. He came to the broadcasting channel. It was here in 2006 that Leepu and Bernie Feynman participated in an exhibition entitled “Bangla Bangers” dedicated to the manufacturing of special cars in India. He built two machines in 7 weeks in 8 weeks with Bernie Feynman on Broadcasting.
In April 2006, his first car was unveiled during three days at the Dhaka Motor Show. The show was held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Convention Center. This was one of Leepu’s sportier models built in four weeks, based on the 22-year-old Toyota Sprinter chassis.
On 7 May 2006, Leepu’s car was propelled. In June, He was welcomed to work on the Wealthy Blend Center car venture in East London and worked on the venture for two months. The same year, he was welcomed to London as artist in residence”. His obligation was to take an interest in the dispatch of the company’s presentation.
In 2007, Leepu built-in a car called The Angel Car. The car was shown at the Baishakhi Sensible presentation on London’s Brick Way. Leepu and Barney Feynman, moreover, showed up within the Bangla Bangers spin-off “The Chop Shop London Garage” .The main reason for this reality has been to supply custom vehicles that meet the needs of our clients at a reasonable cost.
At the end of 2015, Steve presented on the history channels, Trimble Carport Leepu and Pitbull obviously delivered cars that could be converted into commercial supercars. With this distribution, Leepu Awlia and his family immigrated to the United States.
Recently, he came to Bangladesh and shared his success story so far on Somoy TV. I want to make affordable cars for everyone and maybe organize workshops for young enthusiasts who call me regularly and say they want to learn from me, ” said Leepu. He wanted the people of the country to buy and drive his cars at affordable prices, but the big hurdle is that the cars he has made are not road legalized. He says a day will come when the cars he makes will be on the road.
Leepu is a shining example of strong will that can take people from places to places.
His patience and creativity have taken him to the pinnacle of success. He also brightened the face of his country.
