You probably know about this line: A stitch in time saves nine. It advises doing your task on time rather than leaving it for the next day; if it is left for tomorrow, it will be a more difficult issue later. Though managing time is quite complex, each time it brings success. You should have enough knowledge of time management, especially if you are a student.

From school, college, and universities to daily activities, academic success, building a career, establishing a business, etc., in every sector, a good time balance is required. But at present, most students are not aware of how to utilize or manage their time to gain productivity.

A remarkable percentage of students wrestle with time management. Research shows that 70% of students have trouble with time management, and the remaining 30% struggle with managing their time effectively. If you are including 70% of students, here are some guidelines for increasing your productivity.

  • Make a Productive Plan: This is the basic element of time management. It’s a process of thinking before acting. What will be done is not the only subject of discussion; when, how, by whom, and at what time a task or work will be done are also a part of making the productive plan.
  • Implementation of Plan: It’s not enough to just plan and leave it. It’s also necessary to implement it; otherwise, the entire plan will be wasted.
  • Make a Habit of Writing: Write down the tasks that will enhance your skills and keep you motivated throughout the day. Do them according to your plan and tick them off.
  • Identify the Important Task: Essential tasks should be done first. If studying is your first priority, then do it first. If I give my example, the first thing I do is to identify my specific things that are aligned with my task and make them a priority. It saves time.
  • Keep Away From Distraction: It’s an important thing. Keep yourself away from distractions. Serene surroundings create a significant impact on your mind.
  • Pay Full Concentration: It doesn’t matter if the task is small or large-scale. Just pay full concentration.
  • Reduce Screen Time: The use of mobile phones and other harmful technology is growing rapidly. It is killing valuable moments and hindering time management for a student. It’s better to turn off notifications while studying. Use your phone while it’s needed and avoid unnecessary use of devices.
  • Say “No” to Unnecessary Tasks: If you are unable to say “No” to any irrelevant or unnecessary task, it can spoil your time and leave you behind. So, learn to say “No.”
  • Time and Tide Wait for No One: This is a quite popular proverb. It means the way the river flows without waiting for someone in the same way time is going.

There is a very simple conclusion: ‘Time management is life management, or it is personal management.’ Starting from academic life, proper time management teaches us to be disciplined and create a time-saving, well-balanced life. A student should be determined to do his/her main duty, which is studying through good time management. It will bring uncountable success and increase their productivity.
