In today’s world, the younger generation holds the key to the future—agents of change and progress. Nurturing a resilient personality in youth becomes paramount. Youth School for Social Entrepreneurs (YSSE) has been at the forefront of shaping Bangladeshi youth for the past eight years.
Established in 2015 under the visionary leadership of Sheikh Muhammad Yousuf Hossain, YSSE aimed to create employment opportunities by enhancing the competency of young individuals. Recognizing the gap in soft skills education at some universities, YSSE stepped in to train youth in essential skills necessary for career success and entrepreneurship.
Operating as a non-profit organization, YSSE started small but made a significant impact on the youth. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, causing a crisis in employment, YSSE adapted by shifting its operations online. The organization recruited interns from various fields, offering them opportunities to enhance their skills in areas such as Content Writing, Operations Management, Admin and HR, Business Development, Marketing, and PR.
YSSE’s commitment to building future leaders involves expert mentorship from Bangladesh and abroad. Workshops, seminars, and panel discussions, led by professionals from diverse fields, motivate and guide students, fostering expertise and leadership skills.
As the trailblazers in youth employment, YSSE marked its ninth year in 2024 with a list of achievements for 2023. Events like the “Powering the Youth 2.0” workshop focused on effective negotiations, personal branding, and creativity. Weekly sessions like “Career Talk” and seminars like “Behind the Journey” and “আজকের তারুণ্য” provided valuable insights from young entrepreneurs and changemakers.
To broaden horizons, YSSE organized seminars such as “Study Beyond the Border.” Additionally, sessions like “Career Mentor Program, “Speak to Inspire,” “PaperInk 2.0,” and “Connecting the Dots” equipped students with diverse knowledge.
YSSE’s blog, featuring over 3000 published articles within a year, attracted nearly 1 million readers. Engaged in philanthropy, YSSE’s Charity Hub, “উষ্ণতার হাসি”( “The Smile of Warmth,”) provided warm clothes to the underprivileged and offered medical and financial aid to flood victims.
Here’s the year based list of achievements and activities by the Youth School for Social Entrepreneurs (YSSE):
