The world is changing too fast and we need this world to be in the hands of visionary leaders who can shape the world for a better tomorrow, right? Where do we find those visionary leaders?-the answer is they are right in front of us!

Youths can be the visionary leaders whom the world desperately needs to tackle unprecedented challenges. Youth leadership is all about the active role that young individuals can play in shaping the future of their communities or countries by making positive changes in society. An unwavering commitment to reform is what young leaders dream of.  Let’s dive into some core aspects of youth leadership.

What’s so special about young leaders?

Ultimate vow to bring change:

The most special thing about youths is that they are always ready to face any situation, positive or negative, where their vow to make change becomes more apparent. Malala Yousafzai, for example, came into the spotlight when she raised her voice and concern regarding the educational rights of girls in Pakistan. Even after an assassination attempt by the Taliban, she didn’t step back from her goal to make a transformative change in the educational policies of Pakistan, thus inspiring millions of people worldwide.

Bring fresh perspective:

Always following the same rule and perspective is boring but bringing a fresh perspective to anything is exciting. And youths do that tremendous job by bringing a fresh perspective to anything.

Innovative mindset

Youths are full of aspirations, dreams, and potentialities. They have the most innovative mindset as they can think of anything from different points of view. Their articulating power and way of looking at things are a lot more different from that of the old generation.

Technology proficiency

The new generation has a great bond with technology, right? Youths of today’s generation are proficient in technology as almost everything is tech-based. This tech proficiency is essential to cope with the advanced and competitive world.

Leadership potentials

To lead any nation, a leader has to possess as many qualities and skills as needed to give a new nation reigning with thousands of possibilities. From having an innovative mindset to having a determination to break down the status quo, what qualities don’t the youths possess?

Social activism

“Society has to be changed for a better tomorrow”-this is what makes the youths engaged in different social activities for the well-being of the citizens. For instance, Greta Thunberg, a Swedish environmental activist, is well-known for her global climate movement. By taking an initiative named “Friday’s for Future” school strike, she has played a prominent role in mobilizing all the people worldwide to take action on climate change. Her journey as a young activist began at the age of 15 and since then she has been actively working to protect the planet.

A prominent example of Youth Leadership in Bangladesh

The recent quota movement has become one of the most remarkable events in the history of Bangladesh. From initiating a movement to reform the quote system to finally reaching there, is a journey of strong will, sacrifice, and dedication of the youths. The active involvement of youths completely changed the movement’s momentum, mobilizing all the people throughout the country. The youths being united can multiply their power; this is what we have witnessed in this movement.
Why is it essential for the youth to be part of nation-building?

The potential of any nation can be explored fully by the right hands of youths if they come forward to lead any nation.

With a clear and loud voice, only youths can speak against all odds, corruption, injustice, and irregularities.

By working with the people of all sections, youths can bring positive change in any nation, promoting national unity, and solidarity.

The human rights of every citizen will certainly be fulfilled if youths take part in nation-building.

If youths protest strongly against corrupted systems, all those systems are bound to be changed.

The power of youth leadership can no way be denied as there is thousands of evidence of youths being the actual changemakers all around the world including Bangladesh. All we have to do is groom these youths with essential knowledge and skills to build a bright nation full of prospects and potentialities.
