From an early age, Sabila was a reading enthusiast, exploring books across various categories. She was also actively involved in numerous extracurricular activities. After completing her HSC, she pursued a degree in Computer Science at Southeast University.
When Sabila was in university, she took part in various projects and did internships. This helped her gain communication and leadership skills. After graduation she get into a full-time job. Despite achieving great success in her career, she felt unfulfilled. Sabila had always dreamed of giving back to her community, and this ambition led her to initiate De Castelia. Her journey was formed by her enthusiasm for community work, which began during her student life. This sense of aim motivated her evolution from corporate roles to entrepreneurship.
During her time in the mobile operator sector, Sabila observed a major gap. Although Bangladesh had the talent and capacity to build software locally, companies were intensely dependent on importing software from abroad.
Sabila explains, “This was a wake-up call for me. We were conducting research and development, but the core technologies and software were purchased from other countries. I wanted to change that.”
Motivated to make a difference, she explored into research and development, analyzing how Bangladesh could create its own technological solutions.
Sabila Enun co-founded De Castelia with three similar-minded individuals, turning their shared vision into reality. The name holds a special meaning: “De” stands for “vista,” symbolizing vision, and “Castelia” is derived from a Greek word symbolizing goodness.
At first, the team worked from home, taking on freelancing projects to build websites and software. However, as their workload grew, they decided it was time to take the next step. A senior colleague offered them an unused veranda to set up their workspace.
“We started with just a small corner of the veranda, sharing one chair and even the same meal for lunch every day. It was challenging, but that’s how we began,” Sabila recalls with pride.
The early days of De Castelia were marked by countless challenges, but Sabila and her team remained persistent. Their focus on innovation, community service, and self-dependence became the pillar of their success.
Today, De Castelia is a manifestation of what can be achieved through willpower and a commitment to create meaningful change. Sabila’s entrepreneurial journey was not only about building a business but also about empowering her community and inspiring a culture of self-sufficiency.
Sabila’s journey inspires people like us who want to shift from traditional career paths to entrepreneurship. Her journey highlights the importance of recognizing gaps, believing in your own vision, and being tireless through obstacles.
“If you want to make a difference, start with what you have,” she advises. “Even the smallest step can lead to something extraordinary.”
Sabila Enun’s entrepreneurial path is a shining example of how passion, resourcefulness, and community-focused innovation can transform challenges into opportunities, creating lasting impact.
