In popular discourse on scientific accomplishments, Chandrasekhar’s name is frequently disregarded, despite the significant influence of his research.

 

VERA RUBIN:

American astronomer Vera Rubin’s groundbreaking research offered strong proof that dark matter exists. Her careful measurements of the rotational velocities of galaxies produced the ground-breaking finding that galaxies are significantly more massive than is typically observed. Rubin’s contributions to the study of cosmology have had a significant influence and transformed our knowledge of the cosmos.
