Human rights are the rights of freedom until birth to death of humans. Human rights  are the universal  rights of people. In 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) came into existence by the United Nations General Assembly. This document set the global standards for human dignity, justice & freedom. But are these human rights maintained globally? If we look deep into the world, most of the people from underdeveloped and developing countries are still deprived of their basic human needs or social indicators. So, establishing human rights for all faces some challenges due to a country’s economic or political factors.

Challenges

The key challenges to human rights are:

Poverty: Poverty affects largely toward  human rights. People are even unable to meet their basic needs like food, housing, sanitation, and medical facilities due to poverty. Poverty may occur because of low income, low capital and low saving of the country. Due to poverty, a family isn’t able to seek more opportunities for education. Moreover, it can lead to poor governance in the country.

Economic Instability: In economic decline, a country faces a high rate of unemployment. Especially in the deflation period, most people lose their job. As a result, they face limited access to healthcare, education and housing. Economic crises also lead to corruption in countries by which human rights are totally violated.

Discrimination: Discrimination is a major challenge to human rights. People often face discrimination of race, gender, religion, ethnicity, disability etc. It creates huge violence toward society.

War: War between countries forces people to flee from their own country. For this issue, human rights are totally abused.

Fighting with these challenges is challenging. But not impossible. So, what techniques can we apply during our silent war for human rights?

Techniques for fighting with the challenges of Human Rights:

International Law: International law should be set to protect human rights. Already, a milestone document has been set to save human rights. This document is called ‘United Declaration of Human Rights’.  The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women was set in 1979. The Convention on the Rights of the Child was set in 1989. But these laws aren’t abided by properly. So, strict laws should be set and all countries should come forward to protect human rights.

Awareness: Most people are unaware about their rights and justice. So, raising awareness with the help of campaigns, workshops and sessions can help to protect human rights.

Reducing Poverty: Poverty is a huge problem toward protection of human rights. It is the root cause of violation of Human Rights. Poverty can be reduced by job creation and innovation. Development in the education sector can also reduce poverty. The role of government is very important to reduce poverty.

Collaboration with other countries: The level of human rights is very low in underdeveloped countries. They regularly face the problem of gaining their social rights. In this issue, the developed country can come forward with a view to helping the underdeveloped countries to protect human rights throughout the world. So effective collaboration can change the view of underdeveloped countries.

Sustainable Development: For protecting human rights, Sustainable Development is a vital part. It can ensure equality among the people. Sustainable Practice can lead to a clean and healthy environment. Sustainability also can help by promoting gender equality, decent work, zero hunger, no poverty to protect human rights.

The fight for human rights is a fight of everyone in the world to maintain equality  and justice. It is, of course, a silent war for everyone to obtain their rights which they deserve. Let’s join together as a global community to fight against the challenges and barriers of human rights in this silent war.
