Viewers pick hollywood movies not only serving it in English but also its  wide range of genre, innovative filmmakers, ingenious actors,high budgets,  international networking. This industry has generated fabulous masterpieces that have captivated audiences for over a century. There are such classics  worthy of discussing:

Casablanca 

Casablanca  is a classic film released in 1942, regarded as one of the greatest movies in cinematic history till now. The film is directed by Micheal Curtiz  who has won the Academy Award for best picture featuring themes of love, sacrifice, political conspiracy and moral dilemmas  counteracted during wartime.  The film has an all-star cast such as Rick Blaine, Ilsa Lund, Victor Laszlo, Captain Louis Renault, Major Heinrich Strasser.  

West Side Story

This movie is unique owing to adding iconic songs such as “Tonight”, “America”, “Somewhere” choreographed by Robbin with deep emotions. This movie is a modern adaptation of William Shakespears’ Romeo and Juliet exploring affairs of love, rivalry, and social issues through two street gangs : the jets and Sharks.

An Affair to Remember

One more blockbuster film directed by Leo McCarey and starring Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr is ‘An Affair to Remember’. The film narrates the love story of two people who fall in love and promise to meet  at  the Empire State Building six months later. This film features  a simple, quintessential love story that still enthralls  the heart of viewers which is not a cup of tea for everyone. 

Jurassic park

The film is another  masterpiece that introduces the concept of genetic engineering, devastating consequences of playing with nature, animal rights and coexistence  by Michael Crichton in 1993. The story  narrates an industrialist who  summoned some experts to visit the park filled with cloned dinosaurs. Later, face colonialism  when the dinosaurs escape. It sets box office records   placing one of the highest-grossing films.

Titanic

Who does not dream to recreate the iconic sunset moment like ‘Titanic’ ? Yes, every lovey dovey couple does. The scene of wrapping  Jack’s arms around Rose in a gentle breeze has submerged every individual in the flow of heavenly love. This magical scenario was created by two wonderful leads Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio  under the direction of James Cameron. The film covers two lovers who fall in love  in the ill-fated maiden voyage of Titanic in 1912 that later collapses with an iceberg and thus, begins to sink, drowning  many passengers. 

The Green Mile

The Green Mile is mainly based on the story of Stephen King’s novel that was directed by Frank Darabont. It is about an  orison head guard who discovers an inmate’s power of healing others wounds  that lead him on the way of realising spirituality. The sacrifice at the end develops viewers’ expectation by Coffey, the black man who is accused of murdering two young girls, deeply melts the heart of the audience despite his unforgivable crime.  The role of John Coffey, played by Michael Clarke, wins the most prestigious Academy Award as a supportive actor.

Pirates of Caribbean

This movie gained commercial success, grossing over $650 million worldwide because of combining adventure,romance,supernatural elements , memorable characters and innovative direction that has left a lasting effect among audiences. Gore Verbinski is the director and Jerry Bruckheimer is the producer featuring the themes of love and sacrifice, freedom vs constraint, curses and redemption by the amazing star cast.

Avatar 

Avatar is praised for its pioneering use of 3D technology and visual effects that create a new benchmark in the cinematic world. The movie won three Academy Awards  under the guidance of most sought -after director James Cameron for best art direction,  cinematography and visual effects.
