Imagine, a boy named Hasan and a boy named Karim are going for a job interview. The Interviewer will ask them some questions regarding their qualifications. Hasan is a person who has a great CGPA as well as great soft skills and hard skills. Karim does have an excellent CGPA but he doesn’t have many soft skills or hard skills.

Now, who do you think will pass the interview?

Hasan will be the one who will pass the interview because of his skills.

In this digital world, we all need soft skills & hard skills. But sometimes we wonder which might be more important: soft skills or hard skills. Indeed, if we look into Hasan’s case, we can see that both skills have given him more benefit.

Now, you will know more about soft skills and hard skills to find out which one is more important.

Soft Skill: Soft skills are non-technical skills that describe how you work and interact with others.

There are some excellent soft skills examples –

  • Communication
  • Time management
  • Problem-solving
  • Teamwork
  • Negotiation
  • Creativity
  • Leadership
  • Flexibility
  • Adaptability
  • Interpersonal Skills

So these are the soft skills that a person should have in their resume.

  • If you’re working in a group where you have to communicate with each other like in University in presentation groups, you will learn teamwork & problem-solving.
  • If you can lead a team, you will learn leadership skills.
  • If you have done any internship, you will teach time management, flexibility, and adaptability.
  •  If you have done any part-time job, where you need to communicate or negotiate with people, you will learn negotiation.
  • Creativity skills are mainly your imagination, innovation, inspiration, and curiosity.

So, these soft skills are mainly learned by interacting with other people. You will have to find out how you will learn these soft skills like group projects or presentations and many more.

With this group work you will also learn interpersonal skills which means listening, verbal communication, decision-making, confidence, and many more.

You may think, where will I learn those soft skills? Worry not, it’s as simple as our daily life.

If you’re someone who is studying at university, you will need to do presentations and assignments. Here you will learn teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. If you can put your time into some clubs like debate, culture, and sports, you will teach time management, negotiation, flexibility, and many more.

Hard Skill: Hard skills are technical skills that can be learned through formal education, workshops, certification programs, and job training.

So these are the hard skills that a person should have in their resume.

Do you remember Hasan who got the job because of having hard skills?

    • Artificial Intelligence (AI): We live in a digital world, where AI is leading a lot of things. So to keep up with this AI, you must know more about AI. AI has become powerful and its applications are to perform complex tasks that once required human input.
