IIT means the Indian Institute of Technology. IIT entrance exams are one of the most prestigious university entrance exams in India and studying at IIT is prestigious not only in India but also all around the world for its outstanding university curriculums, cutting-edge research, and excellent faculty staff.IIT mainly focuses on engineering subjects. For Bangladeshi students who want to pursue their studies in engineering, IIT is expected to be on their priority list. However IIT is challenging to crack and being a Bangladeshi student, it can be confusing about the preparation procedure and admission application-related information.

IIT admission process: The first leap!!

To get admitted into IIT, the foremost job is to pass the JEE  Advanced Examination. The full form of the JEE is the Joint Entrance Examination.

Bangladeshi students fall into the category of foreign students or non-Indian citizens. Foreign students need to attain the online JEE Advanced Examination and qualifying for it only can show the road to a seat in IITs. The OCIs (Overseas Citizens of India) and PIOs (Persons of Indian origin) can directly register for JEE Advanced and need not appear in JEE Main as long as the other eligibility requirements are met.

For foreign students, IIT allocates 10% of extra seats which Bangladeshi and other foreign students can apply for. About the admission fee, the SAARC countries where Bangladesh falls need to pay USD 90.

Eligibility procedures and rules to follow !!

Bangladesh students need to follow some eligibility rules to attain an examination for admission to IIT. The requirements fall under the eligibility rule.

Academic Requirements

  • A student can attempt JEE Advanced two times in consecutive years.
  • The candidate must mandatorily take Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 12 or our Bangladesh College level or HSC curriculum.
  • A minimum of 75% marks need to be attained in all subjects of the college level or class 12.
  • Students must be positioned in the top 20 percentile on their respective Class 12 (or equivalent) HSC board exam.
  • Candidates who have been accepted by IIT previously cannot attain the examination again and if so will not be eligible.

Age Requirement

The age limit of the candidate must be between 18 to 25 years.

Document Requirements

For verification purposes, you need to submit your academic record documents like SSC, HSC certificates, testimonials, and other documents necessary. It is important to ensure that all the documents have been attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indian High Commission in Bangladesh.

Study plans and tricks for IIT crack!!

  1. Follow a study plan and stick to the schedule
  2. Have a proper understanding of the JEE Advanced syllabus and exam questions
  3. Practice previous year questions as much as possible
  4. Take a mock test through the preparation procedure for your highlighted confidence.
  5. Focus on the concepts and do the math as much as possible so that an enhancement of your analytical ability rises.
  6. Stay motivated throughout the preparation procedure.

  6. Medical fitness certificate

IIT has educational costs and for Bangladeshi students you need a budget for your tuition fees, accommodation, and food in India. For tuition fees, you need 2-3 lakh rupees per year, and for accommodation another 1-2 lakh rupees a year. So you must have good financial support.
