Chinese Government Scholarship: Rules & Benefits

Chinese Government Scholarship is also known as CSC Scholarship, awarded by the Chinese Scholarship Council. They provide this scholarship because of promoting education, trade, culture, and human resource exchange in education, cooperation, politics, and mutuality with other countries. 

Nowadays, most students from Bangladesh want to study in China because they provide a world-class education for international students with superb facilities and scholarships. But the Chinese Government Scholarship is the most prestigious in the world. That is why this scholarship always encourages Bangladeshi students to apply for higher studies in China. 

However, there are 3 types of CSC scholarship, such as CSC scholarship types A, B, and C category. Among three scholarships, this article will contain CSC Scholarship type A, which only applies through the Chinese Authorities and the Ministry of Education from Bangladesh. 

Minimum Eligibility Requirements of CSC Scholarship:

To qualify for this scholarship, you must fulfil the criteria which are given below-

• Must be an International Student
• Not eligible for other Chinese Scholarships

Age Conditions

1. Not More than 25 Years in Bachelor’s Program
2. The age limit is 35 Years for the Master’s Program 
3. The age limit is 40 for the Doctoral Program
4. The age limit is 45 for the General Scholar Program
5. The age limit is under 50 for Senior Scholar Program

Minimum Qualification

1. Higher Secondary Certificate or equivalent for Undergraduate Program
2. Undergraduate Degree for Master’s Program
3. Master’s Degree for Doctoral Program

Required Documents of CSC Scholarship:

• Valid Passport (Minimum 1 Year)
• 1 Copy Recent Chinese Size Photo
• Notarized All-Academic Certificates in English or Chinese translations
• Notarized All-Academic Mark sheets in English or Chinese translations 
• Medical Certificate (Original Copy)
• Study Plan (Minimum 200 words for Undergraduates, 500 words for Non-Degree Students)
• Should Provide Universities Admission Documents, such as Admission Notice, Pre-admission Letter, and Invitation from Professors for Master’s/PhD/General/Senior Scholars Program
• Language Certificates (IELTS or TOEFL) for English-taught Programs
• HSK  Language Certificate for Chinese-taught Programs
•  Police Clearance

Additional Documents For Doctoral/Senior Scholar Levels:

• Research Plan or Study Plan (Minimum 800 words)
• Two Letters of Recommendation in English or Chinese from a Professor or Associate Professor from Your University

Additional Documents For Art or Design Applicants:

• Show Your Portfolio or Works

Additional Documents for those Under 18:

• Should submit Valid Documents of their legal guardians in China

Steps should you follow while applying for CSC Scholarship:

Three steps you should follow while applying for this scholarship. Those steps are given below-

1st Step:

a) Go to this link and Create your account

b) Select Your Country

c) Fill up Your Personal Information

d) Select the Program Category “Type A”

e) Input the Correct Agency Number

f) Fill up the Application Information

• Give Language Proficiency
• Give Study Plan and Other Supporting Documents

g) Check Your Preferred Subject and University by Visiting this Website

i) Last, Fill up all Applications in English or Chinese and Upload All Documents. Then Take a Print of this Form

Notes: 

1. The agency Number must be correct. 
2. Use Firebox or Internet Explorer while applying.
3. Program Category & Agency Number must be matched otherwise the application will be incorrect.
4. Don’t Trust any Agencies or Online Portal.

2nd Step:

1) First Go to this Link

2) Fill Up the Application ID of the Campus China Website

3) Fill Up the Program Name and Level of Study

4) Fill Up the Subject Name

5) Give Your Personal Details Correctly

6) Give Educational Qualification (To calculate the percentage of the result, if it is on 5 scales, multiply by 16, For example, GPA 4.89*16=78.24. If it is on 4 scales, then multiply by 20, like 3.90*20 = 78)

7) Finally, Upload a Passport-Size Photograph with White Background

Now your Account has been activated. Email sent Activation link and Password. If you do not receive the email, Check the Junk/Spam folder. Then Download the Form and Print it Out.

Note: Please Download the Application form before the Deadline or You can not download it later. The Ministry’s website will be closed after the deadline.

3rd Step:

This is the final step to submitting your application. Only Make and Print a list of the documents you will submit to the ministry.

Organize Your Checklist:

• Academic certificates and Mark sheets
• Language Proficiency Certificate
• Study Plan 
• All the Rest One by One (Research Proposal, Job Experience, and others)

Organize Your Documents:

• Place the Ministry’s Application form Above
• Print Copy of the Scholarship Application form
• Organize Your Academic & Other Documents According to Checklist and Enter the number on the pager.
• Fill All the Documents in an envelope with flour and Receiver, Sender, ID/Tracking Number, and Program Name must be written on the envelope.

Submission Address:

• Recipient Address – Joint Secretary (Scholarships) Secondary and Higher Education Department, Room No: 1706, Building No: 06, Ministry of Education, Bangladesh Secretariat, Dhaka.
• Application forms can be submitted at the Reception Room next to Gate No. 2 of the Secretariat between 09.00 AM to 3.00 AM.

Note: You must submit Hard Copies of All Documents Uploaded Online, Otherwise your application will be rejected. And Submit Photocopies of All Documents. A good IELTS/TOEFL/HSK Score will be emphasized when choosing a candidate.
