In romance and young adult fiction, Colleen Hoover is a very well- known name. Colleen Hoover, an American author, has written more than 20 books and never failed to meet the expectations of her readers. Among these books “Heart Bones “ was something that captivated me every single time.

It was published in August,2020. Its genres are: Romance novels, Contemporary romance, and Domestic Fiction. It took me approximately 3 days to complete this masterpiece.

Her books amaze the readers as the endings can not be easily guessed and mostly her words are organized in such a way that every line can be visualized.” Heart Bones” was filled with different emotions. This book depicted that Hoover throws her emotions right in the moment and it aims straight into the heart. Emotional, cryptic, and fierce like bullets it will undoubtedly form bones in one’s heart. The book was written in an elementary language.

The story of Beyah and Samson was described not only with romance but also with suffering in such a unique way. From the beginning till the end there was a roller coaster of emotions. Beyah, a girl growing up with difficulties turns out to be the strongest one. Without being aware she lets off her guard in front of someone she never expected to. The storyline is magically gripping.

The main feature of the book was it was not only a teen romance book but showed the effect of poverty over childhood. Wrong parenting was shown perfectly without fear. It showed the importance of self love and it sure will yearn someone for the ocean and the sunrise. Despite being emotionally two damaged people Beyah and Samson found their way of loving each other without a bit of toxicity.

The book covered goodness, strength ,love and mostly gave the scenario of what a certain place can do to one’s mind and soul. There was the essence of helping one and building trust between strangers and giving them one’s soft spot. It contained reality rather than just imaginary outcomes. It showed that being brought up in hardship does really demolish many things.

In the midst of the story one will be angry or frustrated as the story does not align with fairy tales but in the end, the puzzle is solved and one finds the peace one has been looking for throughout the story. The way she described the burn was the best part to me.

At the end many will find themselves crying and laughing, the sheer beauty of Colleen’s books. If one wants to read a romantic story, it is a highly recommended book as it shows romance and surprises in every chapter. It is a must read. According to the internet about 95% people loved the book and it has an overall rating of 4.5.

“Maybe we did grow heart bones. But what if the only way of knowing you grew a heart one is by feeling the agony caused by the heartbreak.”- Colleen Hoover
