In the last 50 years, 3000+ ships and 100+ planes have gone nowhere to be found in peculiar stretches of water in the Atlantic ocean.
And In today’s world, we all know this mysterious place as the Bermuda Triangle. Also known as the Devil’s Triangle; a source of interest, legend and fear.
It is said that the Bermuda Triangle is a great mysterious part of the ocean Atlantic, where many planes or ships disappeared and they were never found.
This area lies between Florida in the USA, Puerto Rico and the country Bermuda in the North. It creates a Triangle area. Overall, this area is over 500,000 sq miles.
Story of Bermuda Triangle :
The story of the Bermuda Triangle is about 500 years old.
In 1492, When Cristopher Columbus went out to search for a new world; he reported that when he was passing this area his compass stopped working.
One night when he looked at the sky, he saw a strange light that looked like a fireball falling into the Ocean.
Some people believe this story to be fabricated or just an illusion, the fireball can be the meteor.
But this is where all the mystery started and that place was given a lot of names like The sea of Doom, The graveyard of the Atlantic, Sargasso Graveyard in the 18-19 century.
But the name Bermuda Triangle was first used in 1964.
The Frightful incident of Ellen Austin Mystery :
In the year of 1881, a 210 feet long ship named Ellen Austin was traveling from London to New York.
But on its way, Ellen Austin encountered an unidentified ship near the Bermuda Triangle. The strangest thing was there were no people or crew on that ship.
After waiting 2 days, the captain of Ellen Austin stepped foot on that ship. There were a lot of valuable things with no people.
That’s why the captain decided to keep some of their people on this ship and the other half for their own ship. They wanted to sail both of their ships for their destination.
After 2 days, a storm separated their ships. Captain started searching for that ship and when they found they saw there were no people in the ship again.
Where did they go, why they disappeared, no news got found but the ship was intact. It is said that, Captain tried to take that ship with them again but that incident happened again and again.
Isn’t it an interesting story to hear? Although it wasn’t verified, history says this all.
What was lying behind the Bermuda Triangle incidents?
There are many theories for it, some people blame aliens, some believe that there is a giant sea monster. But we can focus on theories which are scientific.
___One explanation is based on magnetism. There are some places on earth which if you use a compass in those areas you would find magnetic & geographic north pole at the same time.
This thing keeps shifting from time to time but in the area of Bermuda Triangle, it didn’t shift in 200-300 years.
___Second interesting thing about this area is, The indoor area of Bermuda Triangle is a bit shallow.
When you look at it on a Satellite Map, you’d see the area of Bahamas, Caribbean Islands are surrounded by turquoise colored water but there is a deep ocean around it which has dark colored water and this area stands out separately in the satellite map. For this it is said that, Many ships got stuck here.
___Third explanation can be said that this area has the most to be happening incidents like hurricanes.
We all know that after China, the USA has the highest risk of hurricanes. Florida is very known for it and for this many ships, planes got in those incidents.
___Last explanation is the most important one because it is related to human psychology and this is called the Baader-meinhof effect.
This effect defines when people start to notice things more than they find them more often around them. This same thing is often said for the Bermuda Triangle.
Though many aircrafts, ships disappeared there, if you noticed enough, there have been many aircrafts and ships disappearance incidents.
The thing is when people started to hear about the mystery of this place they tried to tie up every incident of disappearance that happened inside of Bermuda Triangle. They didn’t give much attention to the outside incidents.
The fact is, this Barmuda Triangle mystery has much more fabricated stories because USA coast guards don’t even recognise this area as a threat.
Just because this area is heavily trafficked by ships and aircrafts, the chances of accidents increased here most.
And people are only noticing this area because of the past stories, that’s why this area always got hyped.
