Suppose you won a lot of money in a game. But you lost your close friends and persons in front of your eyes because of this game. What will you do? Don’t you make an attempt to stop the brutal game? Squid Game Season 2 builds on this concept where GI-Hun tries to stop the game forever. He wants to find the mastermind behind the game and stop the front man. So, here in this blog, I tried to give a review of all 7 Episodes of Squid Game Season 2:
Episode-1
In the first episode, Gi-Hun, the winner of the game, tries to stop the game. He wants to stop the game with the game maker’s own money. So for this, he tries to search the game recruiter. This episode reveals the ultimate cliffhanger by showing the brother of front man, Jun-Ho is still alive. The ending of the episode is so exciting and breathtaking. Because in the end, Gi-Hun finds the recruiter. Then they play a game named ‘Russian Roulette’. Gi-Hun won the game so the recruiter killed himself.
The episode shows the superb acting skills of Gong Yoo who portrayed the character of the recruiter or salesman.
Episode-2
In the episode, Jun-Ho meets Gi-Hun. But he didn’t tell Gi-Hun that the front man is his brother. Gi-Hun with Jun Ho and Woo-Seak make a plan to find the front man. So Gi-Hun joined a Halloween party. But his trick didn’t work. Gi-Hun had a chat with the front man in a car. Gi-Hun said to the Front Man that he wanted to join the game again. This episode is important for future character development.
Episode-3
Gi-Hun joined the game again. The episode introduced new characters who joined the game. A new rule was introduced in the game. The rule is that players can vote to quit the game after any game is played. However, Gi-Hun came with a tracker but his tracker was removed. In the episode, The first game is the same as season 1. And it is “Red Light Green Light”. The main theme of the episode is that Gi-Hun is now trying to save people. He wanted to stop the game. In the previous season, Gi-Hun was afraid. But in this season, Gi-Hun is brave and determined. The episode shows how an incident changes people’s life and character. The end of the episode creates a massive twist because The Front Man himself joins the game as Player Number 001. But he does not reveal himself as the front man to the player because he enters without a mask.
Episode-4
Player 001 doesn’t reveal his true identity and joins Gi-Hun’s team. It makes a game-changing twist as the main villain plays the game along with the hero. The episode reintroduces the black market business led by a group of soldiers again which is introduced in season 1.
Episode-5
Player 001 falsely introduces himself as Oh Young Il. It actually gives a hint that he is the actual maker. Because in the previous season, the main villain’s name was “Oh Il Nam”. However, this episode maintained the balance of hope and tension.
Episode-6
In this episode,e Player 001 showed his true nature to Jung-Bae. Player 001 killed a player to secure a room in a game named ‘Mingle’. But he acts simple and friendly to Jung Bae and Gi-Hun. On the other hand, Jun-Ho’s team locates a possible gateway to enter the game place but faces an explosive in the gateway. It creates more suspense because the game makers already know Jun-Ho’s group is searching for them.
Episode-7
It is the episode of ultimate betrayal and twist.
Captain Park is revealed as a member of the game makers. It is a twist because earlier he tried to help Jun-Ho’s group to find the game place. But the main twist began when Player 001 revealed himself as the leader of the masked gang. But he didn’t reveal his face in front of Gi-Hun. He faked his death. He took the mask and killed Gi-Hun’s best friend Jung Bae. This episode is so sad and emotional as Ji-Hun lost his best friend.
So, Squid Game Two is all about stopping the game and saving many people from the deathly games. It also teaches us that money can not bring actual happiness. Because after winning the game Gi-Hun is not able to lead his life peacefully. The smile from Gi-Hun is lost forever as he sees many deaths in front of his eyes. The sequel is not finished yet. Season 3 is coming in June 2025.
