Imagine you checked into a hotel. You’re here to rest and have some good time. Maybe you’re on a vacation. You’re so excited to experience and make new memories.
But that feeling is overshadowed by the very suspecting and eerie feeling. As soon as you enter the room, you can feel something is wrong. The temperature is not right. Or you feel like somebody is looking at you. The heavy feeling like the air is telling you someone is here. The walls are the silent witness of many incidents.
Some hotels have become more than just a place to stay or rest. There are some hotels across the world that have been on the list of paranormal activities. We will now uncover some stories about the infamous hotels across the world.
Here are the three most haunted hotels of all time.
1. The Stanley Hotel, USA: The first hotel that comes to the conversation of haunted hotels is the Stanley hotel. It was built in 1909. The hotel became more famous after Stephen King horror story “The Shining”, as this hotel has inspired him to write this book. It happened when he was staying at this hotel in the off-season. He experienced many nightmares while staying in this hotel. Some guests also reported unexplained noises or someone’s presence. Room no. 217, the concert hall, the grand staircase, and the fourth floor are reportedly most haunted. Stephen King stayed in room no. 217. Some guests have listened to the piano playing late at night. Some estimated that this could be Flora Stanley (the founder Freelan Oscar Stanley’s wife). Some shadow figures and mist were captured by the camera on the grand staircase. Some guests also reported children’s laughter and running down the hall even when there were no children there. The fourth floor is where the most activities were experienced with unexplained noises, shadows and children’s playing. Paranormal investigators, horror story writers and curious minds from all over the world come here to experience the paranormal activities.
2. The Langham Hotel, UK: The Langham Hotel of London is one of the most prestigious five star hotel. It is also one of the most haunted hotels. It was established in 1865. Many stuffs and guests have reported unusual activities happening inside of this hotel. Room number 333 is considered the most haunted place of this hotel. Guests have seen white shadows floating around the room. Also some reported sudden change of temperature and unexplained noises including whispers and banging sounds. It is said that the spirit that haunts this room could be a doctor. He murdered his wife in this room on their honeymoon night. Then he killed himself. Another unfortunate incident had happened during world war I. A German prince stayed in this hotel. He jumped from his window and killed himself. Moreover, a man with a disfigured face was seen and reported by the guests. For the curious minds, this hotel is more than a hotel to stay and rest. With its spine chilling story, people from all around the world stay at this hotel to experience something beyond explainable.
3. Rataskaevu Residents, Estonia: Rataskaevu Residents is located in Estonia. The haunted story of this resident is known as “Rataskaevu 16” legend. This takes us back to centuries ago. According to this legend, the owner of the Rataskaevu residence was in debt and he was on the way to losing everything. One day, a mysterious tall man showed up and offered him a deal. He was offered a great deal with a handsome amount of money. But the condition was to give the stranger full privacy. The stranger wanted to arrange a wedding ceremony there. On the evening of the wedding ceremony, there were loud noises and music to dance to. The owner guessed that the ceremony was huge and it lasted till the early hours. With curiosity, he managed to see what was happening inside that room through a keyhole. What he saw, he addressed it as a devil’s wedding. The next day the room was absolutely empty. There was no trace of a big ceremony held there last night. The news spread to the whole town and people panicked. Then the building was sealed as it was considered cursed. Unlike the other two hotels I have mentioned earlier, you can not stay here. Because it is sealed to this day. But this has become a famous tourist spot. You can go there to visit if you are curious.
Many unexplained activities happen with us everyday. If we care enough to notice, we will find them. You never know what things surround us or what happens on the ground you’re standing on. Next time when you visit a hotel, notice things. Maybe you will witness something beyond logical.
