Good manners are considering the feelings of other people and being the kind of person that others will like and respect.
Children should be taught about the Golden Rule,“Always do to others as you would wish them to do to you if you were in their place.”
It is really necessary for people to behave in a good way nowadays.
If anyone is respectful to others then he/she is more likely to be treated with respect by them.
If someone shows good manners everywhere they go, they will be more likely to encourage others to behave in the same way towards them.
Good manners and etiquettes should always begin at home.
Manners and etiquettes are different in every country, but true politeness and impact can be seen everywhere the same way.
They are a part of good morals, and we get it through by Education,Knowledge and lastly from our surroundings like home, school etc.
These are the art of making people who are around us easy and comfortable.
One of the most important and remarkable aspects of a character is the manner and etiquettes in which people conduct themselves toward others.
Basic Examples of Good Manners and Etiquettes
✅ Choose your words wisely:
Being a good listener is often better than speaking. You shouldn’t have to share your opinion on every topic that you don’t know about.
Think things out before you speak.
Think your words wisely before you speak.
You should not use awkward words such as“um” “ers” etc. in a sentence and speak more confidently and practice speaking in front of a mirror if needed.
✅ Don’t speak loudly:
If you speak rudely it will be seen as rude and overbearing. It can also make people angry and as well as upset.
✅ Speak with respect to and of others: The general rule is- if you don’t want someone to speak about you that way, you don’t speak about them to others.
✅ Do not ever speak of bodily functions: Even if it is a casual conversation, such as using the bathroom or telling crude jokes, this shows signs of immaturity and often creates a bad impression of you with your friends, family, and co-workers.
✅ Always respect older people:
This applies to all elders and not just parents and grandparents.
✅ Using the terms ‘Thank You’ and ‘You are Welcome’ shows that you have good manners.
✅ Hold open a door
✅ Speak highly of your parents: If you cannot do that, stay away from speaking about them at all. It looks bad to insult or speak badly of the people who brought you into this world or raised you.
Don’t wash dirty family laundry in public.
It is negative and rude.
✅ Do not swear to use filth language and curse words:
It is unprofessional! People who do this are usually very immature and have no self-control or respect for themselves and others!
Good manners and etiquette do not come naturally to us,they have to be learnt and practiced more day by day in our life.
If one’s manners are good, one behaves well everywhere, even when one is away from the critical eyes of others.
Only such a person can live well in society.
It is therefore essential for everyone to cultivate good manners.
For all of us, it is very important to know this fact that to live well in a society, money alone is not enough.
We should also have good etiquettes and manners; for it is human nature to seek friendship, love and respect from others. Friendship with others makes life happy,pleasant and it has to be earned through our own attitude, behavior towards others.
