It is quite common to be suffocated in the current jobs we are in right now. Not all of us make the right decisions at the right time.

Some of us are even not lucky enough to make career choices due to financial pressure and we start to work the job we get on hand as the employment market is a place where the crisis is permanent.

But with the course of time as we work through the tireless monotonous office hours, our experience and market value improves.

In the meantime with the achieved financial freedom, we can think of a change. Because let’s be honest, a change sounds like a luxury to many of us.

Career switch is a very daunting step and it takes balls to do so. One simple mistake can make someone get on the streets in a moment. We also do not want to end up in a worse career position than now.

So a smooth transition needs a lot of patience, hardwork and planning. But don’t be afraid of applying the correct strategies and with the right mindset, anyone can smoothly change to their dream career path where they will love to work.

Tactic-1 : Seeking Professional Help

We will be needing some out of the box skills to switch careers as our dream job might not align with our educational background.

For this we need to get some professional courses done or work under the mentorship of the professionals working in that field.

If necessary, we can also get a career coach or career counsellor, these people will help you navigate which courses to do and what mentor to choose.

This will help with your career planning and professional development.

Tactic-2 : Multi-tasking

When we are thinking of changing careers, suppose leaving a desk job and starting your own company, we should not risk leaving the job at the very beginning.

As told earlier, a career switch needs a lot of hard work, so for the time being we need to continue both the jobs together, the current desk job and the side hustle which we want to turn into our main hustle.

The time when we realise that our company is established enough or we are skilled enough to apply for different career roles, we can leave the current job.

But before that it is the best decision to not leave the job we are in for security and stability. This is going to be tough, but we need to lose some to get some.

Tactic-3 : Perfect Planning

We need to perfectly craft our career plan as our future recruiter might ask why we are deciding to leave the current job we are in or switch from an entirely different field.

If there is a career gap, we need to work on the specified reason as well. We can seek professional help in this regard as well.

Tactic-4 : Networking

As we are diving into a different field of career, we are a newbie here. So networking is a must to make links and communicate with the professionals.

This is the only way to make our faces and our work known. The people who are starting their own company need a high amount of communication as a startup.

Tactic-5 : Being Realistic

In switching careers we need to set realistic goals. This makes our work easier and also helps to keep our mental health stable.

Sometimes although our goals remain realistic, our time frames are unrealistically short. These types of changes need time, so we need to plan our career keeping that in mind.

Tactic-6 : Resilient

We need to consider the setbacks, the rejections and the uncertainty during changing careers.

We need to understand that transition can be challenging, but we need to stick with it for a better result of being able to work in our dream fields.

An individual needs to combine all the above mentioned tactics to perfectly change their careers. The path is filled with bumps and thorns, but must acknowledge that to stay persistent to achieve a successful transition.
