Human Resource Manager in a company does all the work for the betterment of the company. But when
does the actual betterment of the company really happen?
Make your employees sustain in your company. Until your employees won’t sustain, there won’t be the
actual progress of the company which will bring the desired betterment for achieving goals of that company. Well, an HR manager does that work for the company. He makes the employees sustain for a
long while in your company. How an HR manager does that?
It’s not an easy job to keep people at a workplace for a long period of time. HR managers need to think
strategically and take steps accordingly to do the job. Here are some strategies that HR managers follow
to retain the employees-
1. Proper work environment
The first thing that you need to keep people at a work place for longer is making sure to have a work friendly, hygienic and comfortable environment. Otherwise employees won’t be comfortable to work in that environment which will result in bad performance and ultimately leaving the work place (company).
2. Enough facilities
Employees must be given enough facilities to work with satisfaction, comfort and enjoyment also. They must be provided relevant opportunities according to their work performance. Sometimes arranging for a day long trip or a lunch or dinner program and also for giving them vacation after certain period etc. may be good options to make them happy for their work place. Also giving incentives according to their good performance may motivate them to sustain.
3. Compensation
At the end of the day employees will expect a good reward for their service to the company. For that company needs to compensate their employees good enough to retain them in the organization. Employees must be given that scale of salary which will be well enough to lead a standard life. If employees fail to lead a good lifestyle with the compensation he receives from the company, he may switch the work place because no one is here to face difficulties to leading life. That’s why compensation for the employees is crucial for retaining employees in the company.
4. Promotions
If there is no progress for your work, it will be meaningless to work or you will lose the enthusiasm for working passionately for the company. So, to avoid this situation company needs to set policies to promote their employees as they give their best to the company. After a certain period, completing or meeting up the target, employees should be promoted and receive those facilities which is meant for that position in the company.
Handling people is the most critical work that an HR does for the company. So, to sustain employees in a
company for longer those strategies and policies are mostly taken by the company. Basically, HR managers take those strategies and implement them for sustaining employees in the company longer. HR managers work strategically to train employees, make them comfortable in the work environment and most importantly holding them for long period of time in the company.
