During our time at university, we frequently overlook the importance of developing practical skills and gaining real-world experience. This raises an important question: How can we acquire these skills while still in school? The answer lies in internships. Internships offer invaluable opportunities to gain the experience and skills we need to succeed in our future careers. Any kind of internship, can give us the most needed experience of how a corporation functions.
Here arises another issue: How can we join an internship program? Most of the in-person internships are difficult to apply for. These internships contain eligibility requirements, networking and connections, complex application processes, and so on. As a result, students do not get an opportunity. Here, virtual internships can show them a light of hope. Such internships are more flexible and feasible for students.
This is why YSSE is offering an opportunity for you to join their virtual internship program, where you can show your work efficiency and gain real-life experience working with a youth organization.
What is YSSE?
YSSE (Youth School for Social Entrepreneurs) is a non-profit youth organization, working for a decade to uplift the youth community. YSSE has always offered situation-demanding skill development to shape the youths as assets of the country. Through the virtual internship program, youths will gain hands-on experience working with an organization. If you are interested in enhancing your skills, then the opportunity is here because YSSE is recruiting interns again!
There are 8 functioning departments in YSSE where an applicant can apply:-
The applicable departments are based on proficiency and interest (you can only apply to one department): –
- Admin and HR Department
- Business Development Department
- Communication Department
- Content Writing Department
- Graphic Designing Department
- Marketing and PR Department
- Operations Management Department
- Video Editing Department
Type of Internship YSSE Offering: Remote and unpaid
Tenure: 4 months
Weekly working hours: At least 20 hours per week
What Does YSSE Offer You?
- YSSE offers interns skill development, leadership enhancement, and team management skills.
- It also engages the participants in community-based projects.
- The organization also fosters a great network of like-minded people, mentors, and organizations.
- Interns will get the opportunity to work with different wings and projects of YSSE (YSSE IT, YSSE Academy, YSSE Shop, Charity Hub, Ek Mutho Ahar, Rental, etc.)
- The organization also promotes social entrepreneurship among the youth. And encourage them to be positive changemakers in society.
Internship program components:
Orientation: In the central orientation program, interns will be introduced to YSSE’s vision and goals. The overall structure of the internship program will be explained. After the central program, each intern will get a departmental orientation.
Learning Sessions: There will be regular learning sessions conducted by experts in different fields. These sessions will include soft skills like leadership development, effective communication, and many more.
Live Shows: There will be regular live shows like Behind the Journey, Career Talk, Ajker Tarunno, and Today’s Changemaker. Where successful entrepreneurs, industry experts, and young changemakers share their stories and inspire youth to create an impact on society.
Participation in YSSE Projects: Interns can participate and engage with the ongoing YSSE projects. These projects mostly focus on areas like education, poverty, and empowerment of marginalized communities.
Evaluation and Recognition: There will be regular evaluation of interns based on their performance, and engagement. Recognition like intern of the month, and highlight of the month will be given to the interns. Appreciation letters and opportunities within YSSE will add on to the recognitions.
Responsibilities:
Promotion of YSSE in different communities like social media, promotion in different clubs of your institution, actively participating in events, meeting deadlines, and maintaining teamwork spirit.
Eligibilities:
- Student of any Bangladeshi university or college;
- Proficiency in both Bengali and English;
- Positive mindset for learning and maintaining work efficiency;
- Interested in making a positive change in society; and
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
