It’s so easy to lose creativity in the contemporary world because it’s full of disturbance and constant demands. In our daily life, it might be hard to stay inspired and motivated. In your life, whether you’re an entrepreneur, writer, artist, or trying to accomplish anything else. ‘Keep Going 10 Ways to Stay Creative in Good and Bad Times’ by Austin Kleon is a much-needed asset for anyone trying to sustain their creative energy through the ups and downs.
Austin Kleon, who is well known for his famous publications, Show Your Work and Steal Like an Artist, provides similar useful, approachable guidance to keep going. This book shows that it is often full of rollercoaster rides, but we have to make it beautiful and grow our personal creativity to live peacefully. Well, now I am going to share my personal opinion on what I learned from this amazing book and how it became my inspiration.
Keeping Your Happiness Alive
Kleon advises readers to make sure they are doing things that make them happy. Nowadays, we are just living our lives in a random way, but there is no happiness in it. By different individuals, happiness can be defined differently, but in the context of creativity, happiness is connected to feeling fulfilled, engaged, and linked to what you are doing. It’s not the big things that make people happy in the end, says Kleon; it’s also the little things that people do every day. It’s about searching for happiness in the act of doing; it can be a hobby, a job, or a creative practice. It doesn’t matter if it leads to anything ‘Big’.
Do It Yourself, Not For Other People
When you do something for yourself, you’re less likely to fit someone else’s standards or expectations and more likely to accept your own style and ideas. Things will be easy for you when you adapt your personal expression. Kleon, add something amazing here:- ”Disconnect from the world to connect with yourself”. It explains that we need to connect with others to inspire ourselves and show our own creativity, but it also needs disconnection for the rehearsal of our art or creativity.
Believe The Process And Keep Going
Did you ever notice? When you are doing something good, but suddenly it feels like you’re doing something wrong. It might prevent you from doing that task and also discourage you from finishing it. These things are only for not trusting the process, which Kleon beautifully presents in his book, keep going.
Kleon’s approach is simple, but it’s the simplicity that makes ‘Keep Going’ one of the best and most effective books. I couldn’t stop myself from adding some lines he said- ‘Creativity Has Season’. In winter, the tree looks dead, but we know it is beginning a very deep process, out of which will come spring and summer. So it’s really true that we all have creativity and our own season; we just need to recognize them. Those who are doubting themselves and feel demotivated, this book is a must-read for them.
