What is the Turkiye Burslari Scholarships?
The Ministry of National Education in Turkey provides the Turkiye Burslari Scholarship which is available for international students. This scholarship offers a fully-funded opportunity to experience Turkey’s unique cultural environment, historical heritage and modern lifestyle. The program also provides financial support in the form of a monthly living allowance, free public transport card, medical insurance and residence in Turkish University dorms.
The Turkiye Burslari Scholarship aims to encourage talented students to study in Turkey and learn about the country’s culture & language. Immersing themselves in European culture with its diverse ethnicities, religions, traditions can broaden students’ horizons and provide a unique perspective.
To be qualified for the scholarship, candidates must fulfill the following criteria: be nationals of any country other than Turkey or those who have accepted their Turkish citizenship, complete their studies by the end of the ongoing academic year (prior to August 2022), or have already obtained a degree from a four-year college or a three-year secondary school. Additionally, applicants must apply for one of the English-taught undergraduate programs available, such as Business Administration, Health Management, Economic Administrative Sciences, Psychology and Communication Studies.
Necessary documents for the Turkiye Burslari Scholarship
To apply for the Turkiye Burslari Scholarship, you provide the following documents:
- A valid identification document which can be an ID card or passport
- A recent photograph of the candidate, taken within the last year
- National exam results if needed
- Academic transcripts, diploma or temporary graduation certificate
- International exam results (such as GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc.), if requested by the chosen university or program
- International language test results, including IELTS, TOEFL, DELF if requested by the chosen university or program
- For doctoral applications only a proposal for a research topic and a written example of the research you have carried out

How to Apply for Turkiye Burslari Scholarships?
The online application process is the only way you can apply, there is no alternative.
You can either apply for multiple programmes through a single application or submit separate applications for each programme. During the online application process, you are required to select at least one Master’s programme and one PhD programme to apply for. Please note that applications can only be submitted by the individual candidate through the official website, www.turkiyeburslari.gov.tr. No institutions or individuals are authorized to submit applications on behalf of applicants for Türkiye Scholarships.
Minimum Academic Achievement Criteria:
- Minimum academic achievement for undergraduate candidates: 70%
- Minimum academic achievement for Master and Doctorate candidates: 75%
- Minimum academic achievement for candidates of Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmacy): 90%
Age Criteria
- For undergraduate programs: being under the age of 21.
- For Post Graduate programs: being under the age of 30.
- For doctoral programs: being under the age of 35.
- For Research Scholarship: being under the age of 45.
