Bangladesh Women SAFF championship
Bangladesh created history as it clinched its first Women’s SAFF championship by beating Nepal in the final. For Bangladesh, it was a reality check and roller coaster experience. Beating India, the record winner SAFF championship, and bruising Bhutan in the semi-final, Bangladesh achieved the most prominent award of its sporting career.
Being Member of the UN Security Council
Bangladesh becomes a member of the UN Security Council: In 2022, Bangladesh was elected as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the first time in its history. This was a significant achievement for the country, as it demonstrated the international community’s recognition of Bangladesh’s growing importance as a member of the global community.
Dhaka Muslin Got Revived
As Bangladesh is a country of tradition and culture, Dhaka Muslin is one of the most highly valued traditional fabrics throughout the world for its intricate design. Metro-Rail Finally Opened
The much-awaited Dhaka Metro rail project, also known as the MRT Line 6, is one of the most significant projects that have been under construction since 2016. On 28 December 2022, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina finally inaugurated the first Metro Rail. With that, Bangladesh has ushered in a new age of communication. It is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the city and improve public transportation. The metro rail construction is a complex and long-term process, requiring significant investment and coordination between government agencies, private sector companies, and international partners.
Bangladeshi Student Won the WUDC-2022
Sajid Khandkar and Sourodip Paul, students of BRAC, have won the World University Debating Championship-2022, known as “The World Cup of Debating.” They are not only the first Bangladeshi team to win this, but the first Asian team as well. The whole nation erupted into ecstasy following the victory as it led the country to honour and dignity.
Overall, Bangladesh had a successful year in 2022, with progress made in a variety of areas, and continues to be a country to watch to the world. The country is making steady progress in various areas and becoming increasingly recognized as a major player on the world stage.
