Awards are encouragement for better work and youth awards are thrust to the young people to invent and innovate.

In Bangladesh, 27.96% of the population is youth, who are aged between 15-29 years old.

There are some encouraging and prestigious awards dedicated to the youths for their ideas and impact. “Joy Bangla Youth Award”, “National Youth Awards”, “National Sport Awards” are few to mention.

Joy Bangla Youth Award” is one of the most competitive and respectful awards in Bangladesh.

This was found in 2015 in order to recognize youth led organizations which held an impactful role to reform the society. This award has 6 categories like ; skill & employment, art & culture, community wellness, climate & environment etc.

If someone wants to compete for this award, they have to engage in social services for 18 months voluntarily or professionally.

If an organization wants to compete for this award, it has to be in existence for the period of 2 years. Apart from giving awards, this platform is also grooming many organizations, and youths to grow in future.

Many awardees have gained international recognition too. This platform has nurtured over 3,00,000 members, including 50,000 volunteers.

National Youth Awards” is given by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Government of Bangladesh.

Every year, on national youth day, this award is presented to high achieving people for their role in the society.

Sheikh Russell Awards” is also another youth encouraging award. There are 10 categories where different people and organizations are awarded.

People under 18 years are also awarded within special categories. They are judged and selected through a tight scrutiny.

Under the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, “Sheikh Russell Awards” are arranged and organized.

National Sports Awards” is given by the Ministry of Youth and Sports for achievement in the field of sports.

Each awardeeses are awarded a gold medal,1,00,000 taka in cash and a certificate. The award was first introduced in 1976 and presented by the National Sports Council (NSC).

Now if a sports person or an organizer has a remarkable achievement in a field, this award is for encouragement and recognition.

Joyeeta Award Bangladesh” is an initiative by the Bangladesh Government to encourage young women and their works.

On 9th December “Rokeya Day”, this ceremony is held and women from different fields are awarded.

Social development, entrepreneurship, education, employment, motherhood and prevention of repression are the categories

Commonwealth Youth Awards” is associated to bring the remarkable youths from five regions like: Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe and Canada, Pacific.

Though it is tough to compete with international competitors, there is a chance to get the limelight.

There are a few non government awards too.

Also there are many international organizations to encourage young people from different countries and award them.

Bangladesh is full of young potential and the encouragement can take this potential to another level. Different innovation and ideas are generated from this mass which can positively impact this country and economy.
